  Abortion

  Rhonda supports a woman’s right to choose abortion within the first trimester.

  She also believes Minnesota has a responsibility to ensure no woman feels abortion is her only option. That means comprehensive sex education, accessible contraception, counseling, paid family leave, affordable childcare, and real economic support for mothers — along with a functioning adoption system for women who choose to carry to term. It also means making care genuinely reachable within the first trimester, so no woman misses that window because the nearest clinic was hours away or the next appointment was weeks out. Where a pregnancy threatens a mother’s life, that decision belongs to her and her doctor. Rhonda’s goal isn’t to narrow a woman’s choices — it’s to widen her alternatives, so fewer women face that decision feeling they have no other options.

  Immigration

  Rhonda believes people who work and serve here should have a real path to belonging in Minnesota.

  Minnesotans love their neighbors and want to keep our communities whole. Only Congress can grant legal status, and Rhonda would press them hard for a pathway earned through service. Minnesota doesn’t have to wait to build its end of it. As Governor, she would create a state service corps — general public service, disaster response, agriculture, construction, law enforcement aid — paying a stipend, granting a state-recognized credential, and keeping a documented record of the work.

  Taxes

  Rhonda won’t raise taxes — Minnesota is running a surplus and has no case for it.

  She’d cut where it lands hardest: property taxes on seniors, Social Security income, the first dollars working families earn, and small businesses trying to start.

  I’ve seen my neighbors still paying property taxes on homes they already paid for because of the current tax bill. That isn’t government funding itself. That’s the government pricing people out.

  Safety

  Street safety.

  Rhonda believes safety starts before the 911 call. Boarded-up buildings, dark streets, and unaddressed property crime are how a neighborhood deteriorates. She’d fund the unglamorous work — lighting, urban decay cleanup, vacant property — and prosecutors who work by the law, not around it.

  Nobody wakes up in a safe neighborhood one day and a dangerous one the next. It happens slowly, while everyone decides the small things aren’t worth fixing.
